Wojciech Szczesny expects the title race to go to the wire - and he's not surprised by the number of runners.
Last week the Premier League was being billed by some as a three-horse race between Arsenal, Chelsea and Manchester City - with City firm favourites with the bookmakers.
But Chelsea's win at Etihad Stadium, dropped points elsewhere and big wins for Liverpool and Tottenham means the top five are separated by just seven points.
"I'm not surprised at all," said Szczesny. "I think you've got a lot of quality teams at the top of the table.
"They all have different qualities. Some of them scored a hundred goals and some of them don't concede goals at home. There are different qualities but I think there are a lot of top teams and that's why it's so tight and it's going to be that close until the end.
"Two years ago there was only two teams that could win the title, now there's four teams. So it will be tight.
"I think it makes it more exciting, every game seems that little bit more important especially between the clubs in the top four, it will be an exciting end to the season."
The title race will go on hold until a week on Saturday with the Champions League and, first of all, the FA Cup taking centre stage. Arsenal host Liverpool at Emirates Stadium on Sunday and Szczesny wants to atone for last weekend's heavy defeat.
"We're confident," he said. "It will be a big game for us because we conceded five there on Saturday which was a little bit humiliating, and we want to recover as soon as possible.
"It is out of our system now, we've turned up with a good defensive performance [against Manchester United] so it is out of the system. It was just an accident, they were terrific offensively and we were a little bit weak defensively and we got punished.
"It's a good chance by playing them the week after and we'll do our best to win the game and qualify for the next round."
